| Abstract In 2003, the top analog ASIC/ASSP suppliers controlled over 75% of the market. The global leader with 20% share is STMicroelectronics. STMicroelectronics has a strong position in the application specific analog market. This organization is either first or second in four out of the five application markets, Communications, Automotive, Industrial, and Computers. STMicroelectronics is followed by Infineon, which showed strong growth last year, Texas Instruments, and Philips Semiconductors. Lead by strong recovery in the wireless market, application specific communications devices outperformed the other segments within market specific analog. STMicroelectronics remains the leader in the communications market with a strong position in wireless. The consumer ASSP market was virtually flat in 2003, but STMicroelectronics was able to almost double its market share, moving from just outside the Top Ten in 2002 to claim the fifth position in the present ranking.
