| Abstract The industrial semiconductor market is currently experiencing a compound annual growth rate of 8.8 percent, higher than the industrial electronics market as a whole. The market can be segmented into four major categories: Medical, Test and Measurement, Industrial Control, and Mil/Aero, with test and measurement representing the largest category and medical representing the fastest growing market segment. The industrial semiconductor market accounted $30.6 billion in total revenue for 2008. Test and measurement was the largest market for semiconductors in 2008 with $9.3 billion in sales. Industrial process control was the second largest with $7 billion, while medical and mil/aero accounted for $2.8 billion and $2.9 billion respectively. Logic and Memory were the largest product segments for Industrial semiconductors in 2008, with roughly 20 percent market share apiece. Analog products were a close third with 17 percent of the total market. Industrial analog also posted higher than average growth rates of 9 percent per year thanks to high growth applications in Mil/Aero and process control. If these trends continue, Databeans predicts the entire analog market used in industrial will be worth $8 billion of the total $46 billion industrial semiconductor market.
