| Abstract |
| Consumer electronics remain a driving
force for demand for semiconductors. Legacy electronics
are rapidly being replaced by digital flat panel TVs, video
recorders, digital cameras, and more. |
| The world of consumer analog ICs includes
power audio amplifiers, audio DACs and ADCs, audio codecs,
volume control ICs, video encoder/decoder, video DACs and
video ADCs, special purpose PLLs, special purpose clock
drivers, tuners, and motor control. |
| Databeans predicts that the consumer
semiconductor revenue will move ahead at an average of
12 percent growth over the next five years. Consumer analog
is expected to advance by 8 percent each year. The applications
driving demand for these products include Plasma and DLP
TVs (shipments growing at 33 percent), LCD TVs (shipments
growing at 28 percent), and digital audio (shipments growing
at 29 percent). |
| This report provides readers with an
in depth analysis on the consumer analog market with forecasts
presented for revenue and units. Revenue forecasts are
presented by region and by product. The production analysis
includes a split out of audio products, video products,
and other consumer products. The audio product analysis
includes an audio amplifier forecast including a breakout
of analog versus digital audio amplifiers. |
