Analog Revenue by Supplier

| Abstract |
| For the most part, year 2005 was flat
for the Analog suppliers, although some excitement was
generated in the power segment, as competition was heightened
there, driven by wireless and consumer electronics. Databeans
defines the Analog market, following the WSTS guidelines,
which includes amplifiers, comparators, data converters,
interface, analog power, and ASSP/ASIC. For 2005, Analog
constituted almost 14 percent of the overall semiconductors
market. |
| In 2005, the Top Ten suppliers of analog
products controlled about two-thirds of the market, with
the Top Five combining for a market share of almost 50
percent. According to Databeans survey results, the Top
Five analog suppliers continued to be, in order: Texas
Instruments, STMicroelectronics, Infineon Technologies,
Philips Semiconductors, and Analog Devices, Inc. Both Maxim
Integrated Products and Linear Technology moved up in the
ranking thanks to stronger bookings across several markets
during the last half of the year. |
For 2006, Databeans predicts that Analog
will be much stronger, with the increased demand coming
from portable consumer electronics, 3G handsets, network
upgrades, and PCs – which will surge when the new
Microsoft operating system lands at the end of the year.
Basically anything portable will need improved battery
management, and higher processing performance will require
faster data conversion and greater precision in amplification.
Analog suppliers will have opportunities to increase revenue
substantially, and to expand gross margins as well. Databeans
expects the Analog market to reach a new high of $37.5
billion, a 17 percent increase over 2005.
This study provides readers with 2005 Analog market share for 94 percent of the
industry. Worldwide rankings as well as regional market share is provided. |
