Newton’s three laws of motion provide relationships between force and movement. Yaw rate sensors, in principle, are the means of collecting the changes in these relationships, which when known, can originate a reaction which might otherwise not occur. Yaw rate sensors and accelerometers have been employed in the automotive industry, where they are used in air bag systems, suspension, and vehicle stability systems, such as antilock braking systems (ABS).
