Hard disk drive storage technology has expanded greatly into consumer electronics products. The miniaturization of drives has opened up this market accelerating demand. This technology was once found exclusively in computing applications. Today it is also employed for use in digital video recorders, portable media players, video game consoles, and in digital cameras.
