Abstract
A DSP (Digital Signal Processor) is essentially a specialized CPU used for digital signal processing. They are digital circuits that are used to enhance, analyze, filter, modulate, or somehow manipulate analog functions, such as images, sounds, radar pulses, and other signal types in real-time. These products can provide fast data manipulation and high resolution rendering at a fraction of the cost of a microprocessor.
The largest market for DSP by far is the wireless communications market, and this is due to the large volume of mobile phones that ship every year. The DSP performs the rapid signal processing required in digital voice transmission. Databeans estimates that wireless mobile phones contribute 63 percent of total DSP revenue worldwide, which is estimated at $7.7 billion for 2007.
This study provides readers with a comprehensive outlook on the DSP market by providing forecasts and trends by region and by consumption market. Suppliers are analyzed and market share is presented.
This study is available through individual report purchase for $2,995.00 USD or available at a discounted rate through our 2007 Databeans Annual Library, the 2007 Semiconductor Product and Application Service, or the 2007 Semiconductor Product Service which includes this study as well as other in-depth reports on Semiconductor Market Share, Analog, Logic and Processors, Memory, Microcontrollers, Semiconductors, Automotive Semiconductors, Consumer Semiconductors, Computer Semiconductors, Medical Semiconductors, Military and Aerospace Semiconductors, Process Control Semiconductors, Test and Measurement Semiconductors, Wireless Semiconductors and MEMS, Sensors, Discretes and Optoelectronics. All of our research is backed by a coverage guarantee, meaning that if you purchase a report and need additional information, our analysts are available to continue the analysis, customized to your organization’s needs.
