Abstract
The U.S. Department of Defense continues to provide the largest military market, contributing almost half of all military spending, with Europe contributing approximately one-quarter, followed by Asia and the rest of the world. The major manufactures for the military market continue to be Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, BAE Systems, and General Dynamics.
Commercial air travel is growing strongly worldwide. In fact, over the last couple of years, air travel from the United States has shown the most growth. The U.S. in particular has gained market share in terms of regional demand for large commercial aircraft.
Military and aerospace industry market segments include Airport Security, Space Aviation, IT Security, Military Electronics, and Space Aviation Electronics. According to Databeans estimates, the largest of these is Space Aviation, at $366 billion for this year, which includes commercial aircraft and space.
This study is available through individual report purchase for $3,195.00 USD, or available at a discounted rate through our 2008 Databeans Annual Library, or the 2008 Semiconductor Industrial Application Service which includes this study as well as other in-depth reports on Medical Electronics, Process Control, and Test and Measurement.
