| Abstract |
In the process control industry,
there continues to be a movement away from conventional
controls technology into more advanced technology. Over
the next few years, advanced controls growth is expected
to be higher in the OEM applications and service industry
segments than it will be for the larger goods manufacturing
segments. |
| Requirements for industrial electronics
equipment, especially in process control, are on the rise,
due to the need to better compete, the increasing number
of production applications, and stronger regulatory standards.
Vendors need to be able to provide the products and technologies
required, as manufacturers become more demanding. But more
than that, to be successful, equipment makers must have
the ability to serve all or many of a given manufacturer's
requirements. For some applications, the PC market is competing
against the embedded controls solutions, offering comparable
control and software configurations. |
Customers of industrial process and
control electronics are learning how to successfully integrate
factory functions with business functions, such that these
manufacturers can more effectively produce and compete.
Of course, manufacturing continues to move toward lower-cost
regions of the world, and away from developed regions.
And manufacturers in the developed countries face a range
of issues, but all of the issues are fueled by the necessity
and desire to effectively compete.
|
| The Databeans Control Electronics market
is valued at an estimated $190.1 billion for this year.
This market consists of electronic equipment used in manufacturing
process controls, and those devices used in commercial
industries as well, for inventory control or building automation.
For the forecast period, Databeans expects average annual
growth of 8 percent, reaching a market size of $275.4 billion
as of year 2013. |
